Every year the school reviews how it is doing and identifies some areas for development over the next academic year.

For 2024-25 these are:

1.  To further develop the important knowledge that children should learn within the curriculum.

2.  To provide effective CPD for practitioners to strengthen practitioner knowledge and curriculum implementation.

3.  To strengthen the quality of teaching and learning in mathematics.

Every year the school reviews how it is doing and identifies some areas for development over the next academic year.

For 2023-24 these are:

  • To further develop pedagogical strategies for developing Prime Areas of Learning informed by research (Best Start in Life Part 2)
  • To review and further embed Number provision and planning

This year we are supporting the DfE Hungry Little Minds campaign.  Have a look at the website: https://hungrylittleminds.campaign.gov.uk/
It is a three-year campaign to encourage parents and carers to engage in activities that support their child’s early learning and help set them up for school and beyond.

All the little things you do with your child – like everyday conversations, make-believe play and reading together – make a big difference to their development.

The Hungry Little Minds campaign provides lots of ideas that can help boost your child’s learning. You can slot them into your routine and your children will love them. Such as:

  • Play ‘I spy’ on the bus with them and you can see their imaginations light up
  • Talk to your child about what has happened so far in the day – for example; “We went to the shops this morning, didn’t we? We bought some apples.” And talk about what is going to happen next – “After lunch we’ll do the washing up”
  • Look at picture books together. With each new page, give your child time to point out things to you and talk about what they can see

Search Hungry Little Minds for simple tips and activities, or to find out what’s available where you live.

Every year the school reviews how it is doing and identifies some areas for development over the next academic year.  For 2022-23, these are

  • To formulate a simplified curriculum termly intent to show milestones for ease of parents/carers and to aid assessments by staff.
  • To provide and resource opportunities for subject leaders to further develop their role in driving curriculum developments forward.
  • To ensure staff have access to high-quality, sustained professional supervision and development opportunities that support individual needs whilst driving school improvement forward.

Every year the school reviews how it is doing and identifies some areas for development over the next academic year.  For 2018-19, these are:

  • To further improve children’s progress in Maths (Numbers)

  • To improve the use of formative assessment and how it informs day-to-day planning

  • Review how and what the school offers as nursery provision in order to support high quality early years education
